Paver Driveway Cost in South Florida (2026 Real Numbers)

What a paver driveway actually costs in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach — by material, square footage, and what's hiding in the lowball quotes.
The short answer
In 2026, a professionally installed paver driveway in South Florida runs $14 to $28 per square foot. A typical 700 sq ft driveway lands between $9,800 and $19,600 fully installed, with permits, base prep, and joint sand included.
Travertine and marble pavers are at the top end ($22–$28). Concrete pavers (Belgard, Tremron, Oldcastle) sit in the middle ($14–$20). Brick pavers fall around $16–$22. Get a free quote.
What actually drives the price
Base prep is the biggest line item people don't see. A correct paver base in Florida is 6" of compacted crushed limestone, 1" of bedding sand, and an edge restraint. Skip any of those and you'll be re-leveling the driveway in three years.
Material choice. Travertine looks luxurious and stays cool underfoot but needs sealing every 2–3 years. Concrete pavers are the workhorse — affordable, easy to repair, huge color and pattern selection. See pavers vs concrete in Florida.
Tear-out of an existing concrete or asphalt driveway adds $3–$6 per square foot. Curved, circular, or banded designs add another 10–20% in cut waste and labor.
Hidden costs in cheap quotes
Polymeric joint sand vs. regular silica sand. The polymeric stuff costs more but locks the joints, blocks weeds, and resists wash-out. If a quote doesn't specify polymeric, ask.
Permits run $75–$300 in most South Florida municipalities. HOA drawings add another $200–$500 if your community requires architectural review. We pull both as part of every install.
Drainage. If your lot doesn't slope correctly, you may need permeable pavers, a French drain, or grading work. Expect $500–$3,000 depending on scope. More on Florida drainage codes.
Frequently asked questions
Up front, yes — pavers run roughly 30–50% more than poured concrete. Over 30 years, pavers usually cost less because individual stones can be lifted and re-leveled instead of re-pouring an entire slab.
A typical 700 sq ft residential driveway takes 4–7 working days from tear-out to final joint sweep, weather permitting.
